Under the surface of the earth, a circle of bodies gathers to witness a solo performance which aims to bring light to the hidden parts of reality, one buried in the depths of a millennial body. Throughout this quest, one finds destruction, limits and extremities, opportunities for new and old forms appearing within the skin, muscles, skeleton and the spirit.

Anomalie is a dance which challenges the comfort zone of its participants. It is a show about effort, about yearning to stand up while being destroyed and hope for alignment in the midst of crisis.
 

The dance performance Anomalie is the first work by the body2022 group, led by choreographer and dancer Eva Urbanová. Body2022 deals with the human body today, its changeability and its relationships with the environment it inhabits. Body2022 offers new perspectives on our bodies and initiates new interpretive possibilities beyond those which our physical existence can offer, through movement that is radical, sensual, surreal, and vibrating with a savage new life.

The performance contains rapid light changes reminiscent of a strobe.

Eva Urbanová is a choreographer and dancer who has worked internationally with dance groups of various sizes, cultural backgrounds and professional experiences. Eva's works examine and criticize mechanisms of the social system, focus on empowering women, and demonstrate the concept of dualism. She focuses on developing her own specific dance style and following her own movement signature. Two main sources of inspiration for her are the Israeli contemporary dance scene and physical theatre. Her solo The Essence which was created in 2021 won first prize at the Solo Dance Contest at the Gdansk Dance Festival 2022 and the second Choreographic Award and Public Award at the Solo Tanz Theater Stuttgart International Competition 2021.
 

Joana Simões is originally from Porto, Portugal. She graduated from the contemporary dance program of Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon in 2019. During her studies, Joana completed an exchange year at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where she is now based and works as a performer. In 2022 she performed in dance performances and site-specific projects directed by Nhung Dang, Eva Urbanová and Ran Jiao.
