Open Call

The Czech Dance Platform is launching an open call for contemporary dance and movement theatre productions. Now in its 33rd edition, the platform offers a unique opportunity to present your work to Czech and international audiences, dramaturges, curators and presenters from around the world.

KEY CRITERIA

Young Blood

  • Eligible works include productions by Czech artists created in the Czech Republic or during residencies or internships abroad, as well as works by international artists who have been based in the Czech Republic long-term.
  • The platform is open to works created within the past year (2026).
  • Only one work by the same choreographer/author may be selected for each edition.
  • The international Dramaturgical Council assesses the productions based on their quality, originality, diversity and international potential.

Application deadline: 7 December 2026 (Works that will premiere by the end of December can be submitted, and videos can be sent in January)
A full-length video recording of the production must be submitted by 5 January 2027 at the latest.
Selected productions may not be presented in Prague two weeks before or two weeks after the platform takes place (May 27–June 27, 2027).

Young Blood is a programme strand dedicated to supporting and increasing the visibility of the emerging generation of contemporary dance and movement theatre artists. It responds to the need to create high-quality presentation opportunities for artists at the beginning of their professional careers who do not yet have comparable access to established festivals, international presenters or broader critical reflection.

Dance and Youth 2028

In response to the success of the platform’s program line in 2026, the Dance & Youth section will once again be announced for 2028, when we will once again invite an expert in children’s programming to join the Programming Council.
